Your treating clinician’s written instructions take priority because aftercare differs by procedure, settings, treatment area and medical history. Before leaving Bellis, confirm cleansing, makeup, exercise, alcohol, heat, sun exposure, medication and follow-up guidance for your exact plan.
Keep the first part of the day simple
Build in time to rest, hydrate and observe the treated area. Do not schedule a sauna, strenuous workout or long outdoor itinerary unless the clinic has said it is appropriate. If you are flying or attending an event soon, tell the clinician before treatment so expected swelling, bruising or sensitivity can be considered.
Protect treated skin from the sun
The American Academy of Dermatology recommends sun protection for all skin tones and specifically advises protecting laser-treated skin while it heals. Ask Bellis when sunscreen, makeup and your usual skincare can be restarted; the answer can vary by treatment.
Know when to contact the clinic
Contact Bellis promptly for symptoms that are unexpected, worsening or not consistent with the instructions you received. After dermal filler, the U.S. FDA advises immediate medical attention for unusual pain, vision changes, skin that appears white, gray or blue near the injection site, or signs of stroke.
